Women’s defensive leaders
The NCAA women digs-per-set leaderboard places Gardner-Webb’s Nalani McBride first at 5.63 digs per set. Her total was 653 digs across 116 sets, making her both the rate leader and the highest raw-digs total visible in this set of figures. This is a Division I women’s comparison, and the rate should be read alongside the number of sets played.
Jade Washington of East Texas A&M followed at 5.61 digs per set, with 567 digs in 101 sets. Mia Schaefer of Niagara averaged 5.44 digs per set, recording 566 digs over 104 sets. Andrea Roman of Little Rock was next at 5.31 digs per set, supported by 632 digs across 119 sets.
The remainder of the leading group stayed above five digs per set. Marta Lazzarin of Georgia St. posted 5.25 digs per set from 535 digs in 102 sets. Jasmine Purakal of Robert Morris delivered 5.24 digs per set, with 582 digs in 111 sets. Brooklyn Jaeger of A&M-Corpus Christi recorded 5.18 digs per set and 570 digs in 110 sets.

The next two listed players were Ainoah Cruz of Evansville, at 5.16 digs per set with 547 digs in 106 sets, and Jumana Martin of College of Charleston, at 5.13 digs per set with 575 digs in 112 sets. The narrow spread from 5.63 to 5.13 shows how closely grouped this visible top section is by rate, while the raw totals vary with the number of sets.
Men’s serving and defensive leaders
The NCAA men aces-per-set leaderboard was led by Skyler Varga of Long Beach St. at .967 aces per set. He had 29 aces in 30 sets. Yoriano Velez Vega of North Greenville ranked next at .900, with 9 aces in 10 sets. Zach Solomon of Lindenwood averaged .794 aces per set from 27 aces in 34 sets.
Parfait Mugabo of Edward Waters recorded .714 aces per set, with 15 aces in 21 sets. Barnabas Fenyvesi of Quincy posted .667 from 6 aces in 9 sets. Cole Hartke of Pepperdine reached .643 with 18 aces in 28 sets. Lindenwood’s Luke Kraft had .618 aces per set, totaling 21 aces in 34 sets.
Andrew Rowan of UCLA recorded .606 aces per set with 20 aces in 33 sets. Alex Kandev of Long Beach St. posted .600 with 15 aces in 25 sets, while Grant Lamoureux of Pepperdine reached .571 with 12 aces in 21 sets. These are rate statistics, so the listed set counts are essential context, particularly for the players with nine or ten sets.
The men’s digs-per-set leaderboard had Nelson Castellanos of Southwest Baptist first at 3.16, with 60 digs in 19 sets. Kyle Standage of Merrimack followed at 3.04, recording 73 digs in 24 sets. Bobby Clapp of Barry averaged 3.00 digs per set and made 102 digs in 34 sets.
Josh Staehler of Emmanuel GA posted 2.89 digs per set from 52 digs in 18 sets. Cleveland Brown Jr. of D’Youville recorded 2.48 with 57 digs in 23 sets. Moises Jimenez of Roberts Wesleyan and Max Adkisson of Catawba both averaged 2.43 digs per set; Jimenez had 107 digs in 44 sets, while Adkisson had 68 digs in 28 sets.
Nathan Flayter of McKendree reached 2.39 digs per set with 91 digs in 38 sets, and Slater Fuhrman of LIU also posted 2.39, with 55 digs in 23 sets. JJ Sowa of Loyola Chicago recorded 2.34 digs per set and 89 digs in 38 sets. The NCAA men digs-per-set page therefore includes a tie at 2.39 within this listed group.
Women’s hitting percentage leaders
Hitting percentage combines kills, errors, and total attacks into an efficiency measure. On the NCAA women hitting-percentage page, Andi Jackson of Nebraska led at .467. Her line included 288 kills, 55 errors, and 499 total attacks across 105 sets.
Carter Booth of Wisconsin was close behind at .466, with 245 kills, 34 errors, and 453 attacks in 110 sets. Haley Yount of Jacksonville posted .454 from 206 kills, 34 errors, and 379 attacks in 108 sets. Rebekah Allick of Nebraska recorded .450, supported by 259 kills, 55 errors, and 453 attacks in 101 sets.
| Player | Team | Hitting percentage | Kills | Errors | Attacks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Andi Jackson | Nebraska | .467 | 288 | 55 | 499 |
| Carter Booth | Wisconsin | .466 | 245 | 34 | 453 |
| Haley Yount | Jacksonville | .454 | 206 | 34 | 379 |
| Rebekah Allick | Nebraska | .450 | 259 | 55 | 453 |
| Lizzy Andrew | Stanford | .447 | 298 | 48 | 559 |
| Kiara Reinhardt | Creighton | .447 | 293 | 61 | 519 |
| Yasmeen Muhammad | LIU | .445 | 227 | 37 | 427 |
| Tierney Barlow | Utah St. | .444 | 321 | 53 | 603 |
Lizzy Andrew of Stanford and Kiara Reinhardt of Creighton both posted .447. Andrew had 298 kills, 48 errors, and 559 attacks in 123 sets; Reinhardt had 293 kills, 61 errors, and 519 attacks in 116 sets. Yasmeen Muhammad of LIU recorded .445 with 227 kills, 37 errors, and 427 attacks in 104 sets.
Tierney Barlow of Utah St. completed this listed section at .444. Her line included 321 kills, 53 errors, and 603 attacks in 116 sets. The figures illustrate why percentage and volume answer different questions: Barlow had the largest kill and attack totals in this table, while Jackson had the highest listed efficiency.
Women’s service-aces race
The NCAA women service-aces page listed a five-way tie for the lead at 48 aces. The tied players were Raegan Richardson of FGCU, Cara Shultz of Yale, Katie Smith of UC Irvine, Ema Uskokovic of UTEP, and Caitlin Volkmann of Sacramento St.
Their set totals were not identical. Richardson had 48 aces in 116 sets, Shultz had 48 in 99 sets, Smith had 48 in 120 sets, Uskokovic had 48 in 116 sets, and Volkmann had 48 in 127 sets. The shared raw total therefore appears across different playing volumes.
Three players were one ace behind that group. Tsvetelina Ilieva of Binghamton posted 47 aces in 113 sets, Darina Kumanova of Pacific also recorded 47 in 131 sets, and Sina Toroslu of Siena reached 47 in 111 sets. Kirsten Barrett of Ga. Southern and Paige Bartsch of Boise St. each had 46 aces; Barrett played 102 sets and Bartsch played 109.
VNL 2021 player profiles
Volleyball World player pages provide a different statistical view through VNL 2021 totals. The profiles pair a listed height with total points and point categories: attack points, block points, and serve points. These are tournament-specific figures for VNL 2021, not NCAA season leaderboard rates.
Linus Weber of Germany was listed at 203 cm. His VNL 2021 profile recorded 154 total points: 128 attack points, 14 block points, and 12 serve points. Earvin Ngapeth of France was listed at 194 cm and posted 134 total points, consisting of 111 attack points, 5 block points, and 18 serve points.
Ran Takahashi of Japan was listed at 188 cm. He recorded 118 total points, including 106 attack points, 5 block points, and 7 serve points. Isac Santos of Brazil was listed at 208 cm and collected 97 total points: 66 attack points, 21 block points, and 10 serve points.
| Player | Team | Listed height | Total points | Attack | Block | Serve |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Linus Weber | Germany | 203 cm | 154 | 128 | 14 | 12 |
| Earvin Ngapeth | France | 194 cm | 134 | 111 | 5 | 18 |
| Ran Takahashi | Japan | 188 cm | 118 | 106 | 5 | 7 |
| Isac Santos | Brazil | 208 cm | 97 | 66 | 21 | 10 |
How the statistics differ
The NCAA figures mix rate and volume measures. Digs per set and aces per set describe average production relative to sets played. Total digs and total aces describe accumulated production. Hitting percentage describes attacking efficiency using kills, errors, and attacks, while the supporting counts reveal the scale of the opportunity behind that percentage.
The VNL 2021 profiles use total points and point categories instead. Weber’s 154 total points were the largest of the four listed profiles, with 128 attack points. Ngapeth’s 18 serve points were the highest serve-point total in this group. Santos had the highest block-point total at 21, despite recording 97 total points. Takahashi’s 106 attack points made attacking his largest listed source of points.
These measurements should remain in their original contexts. NCAA women’s and men’s leaderboards are separate comparisons, and the VNL 2021 profiles describe a tournament period. A player’s rank in one category does not by itself establish an overall ranking, because defensive rates, serving rates, attacking efficiency, and point totals measure different parts of volleyball performance.
